FNSKU

Amazon’s fulfilment network barcode for FBA inventory of your offer.

Definition

An FNSKU (Fulfilment Network SKU) is the barcode Amazon applies to FBA units so its warehouses can pick your offer. It is distinct from your merchant SKU and from the ASIN. Mixed FNSKU labelling is a common inbound problem.

Worked example

You send 200 units of SKU TEE-BLK-M to FBA. Each unit is labelled with the FNSKU Amazon issued for your offer of that ASIN, not only the EAN.

Why it matters for replenishment

Wrong labels create stranded or unfulfillable inventory and delay restocks that your reorder point assumed would arrive.

How OmniRestock uses this

OmniRestock plans FBA transfers from your own warehouse model. Labelling still follows Amazon’s inbound requirements for the shipment.

Common questions

Is FNSKU the same as ASIN?

No. ASIN identifies the catalogue product; FNSKU identifies your FBA offer units in Amazon’s network.

Can I use a manufacturer barcode instead?

Only when Amazon allows stickerless/commingled programmes. Most private-label sellers use FNSKU labels.

Where do FNSKUs show up in planning?

On inbound shipments and FBA inventory views. Your internal forecasts still key off your SKU.

Is an FNSKU the same everywhere?

The idea is shared, but formulas and marketplace rules differ. Use the definition on this page for ecommerce replenishment.

Do I need software to track an FNSKU?

A spreadsheet works for a few SKUs. Once you have many suppliers or channels, a replenishment tool keeps the numbers current.

Does OmniRestock change my live stock?

Not unless you switch Stock write or Purchase orders on for a connection. Drafts stay drafts until you confirm.
