Case pack

How many sellable units are in one supplier carton.

Definition

Case pack (or carton quantity) is the number of units packed in one master carton from the supplier. Orders and FBA inbounds are often rounded to whole cartons to avoid broken-case fees and packing errors.

Worked example

A SKU has a case pack of 24. Your raw suggestion is 100 units. Rounded up to case pack that becomes 120 units (5 cartons).

Why it matters for replenishment

Ignoring case packs creates awkward warehouse receipts and can break Amazon carton constraints on inbound shipments.

How OmniRestock uses this

OmniRestock rounds draft PO quantities to case pack as well as MOQ when those fields are set on the product.

Common questions

Is case pack the same as MOQ?

No. MOQ is the minimum you must buy; case pack is the carton multiple. You may need to meet both.

What about inner packs?

Some suppliers use inners (e.g. 6) inside a master (e.g. 24). Plan on the level you actually receive.

Do FBA shipments need case packs?

Amazon has carton limits and labelling rules. Whole-carton planning reduces receiving issues.

Is case pack the same everywhere?

The idea is shared, but formulas and marketplace rules differ. Use the definition on this page for ecommerce replenishment.

Do I need software to track case pack?

A spreadsheet works for a few SKUs. Once you have many suppliers or channels, a replenishment tool keeps the numbers current.

Does OmniRestock change my live stock?

Not unless you switch Stock write or Purchase orders on for a connection. Drafts stay drafts until you confirm.
