Available stock

Units you can still sell after allocations and holds.

Definition

Available stock (ATS) is on-hand minus allocated, reserved, damaged or otherwise unsellable units. Channel storefronts should show available, not raw on-hand.

Formula

Available ≈ on-hand − allocated − unsellable holds

Worked example

On-hand 500, 80 reserved for wholesale, 20 QC hold → 400 available for DTC channels.

Why it matters for replenishment

Publishing on-hand causes oversells. Planning cover on on-hand causes late reorders.

How OmniRestock uses this

OmniRestock plans from connected stock figures in each warehouse; keep channel stock-write switches off until mapping is trusted.

Common questions

Should ROP use available or on-hand?

Prefer available (and inventory position with on-order).

What are unsellable holds?

Damage, quarantine, missing, or marketing samples — anything not pickable.

Does FBA “fulfillable” mean available?

Yes — Amazon’s fulfillable quantity is the FBA available figure.

Is available stock the same everywhere?

The idea is shared, but formulas and marketplace rules differ. Use the definition on this page for ecommerce replenishment.

Do I need software to track available stock?

A spreadsheet works for a few SKUs. Once you have many suppliers or channels, a replenishment tool keeps the numbers current.

Does OmniRestock change my live stock?

Not unless you switch Stock write or Purchase orders on for a connection. Drafts stay drafts until you confirm.
