What changed
Self-serve Merchant Workspace lets merchants register, verify a website, and share catalogues via Feedonomics, Salsify, CEDCommerce, VersaFeed or SP-API. Customers may see “Shop Direct” results and leave Amazon to buy on the merchant site, or use Buy for Me where enabled. No Shop Direct participation fee per Amazon’s announcement.
Who’s affected
Eligible US web merchants (and Amazon sellers with selection not sold in-store). Shop Direct is described for US customers.
What to do
- If you already sell on Amazon, email [email protected] about selection you do not list in-store.
- Only connect feeds for SKUs you can fulfil from your own site; keep Amazon FBA cover separate.
- Update landed cost and margin models if Shop Direct traffic converts off-Amazon with different fees.
- Watch discovery analytics before shifting replenishment budget toward Shop Direct–only SKUs.
Why it matters for replenishment
Policy, fee and inbound changes move the dates and unit economics behind reorder points. Update lead times, landed cost and channel buffers in the same week Amazon publishes the change — not after the stockout.
