FBM

Fulfilment by Merchant — you ship Amazon orders yourself or via your 3PL.

Definition

FBM (Fulfilment by Merchant) means Amazon orders are shipped from your own stock (warehouse or 3PL), not from FBA. Inventory planning shares the same pool as other channels mapped to that warehouse.

Worked example

A heavy SKU stays FBM from your 3PL while lighter hero SKUs run FBA. Both still need one coherent forecast per SKU.

Why it matters for replenishment

FBM avoids Amazon storage fees but needs pick-pack capacity and accurate multichannel allocation so you do not oversell.

How OmniRestock uses this

OmniRestock maps Amazon FBM to your warehouse stock source alongside Shopify, eBay and WooCommerce when they share that warehouse.

Common questions

Does FBM use FNSKUs?

No — FNSKUs are for FBA units. FBM uses your own pick process.

Can a SKU be FBA and FBM?

Yes (split). Plan both pools or you will starve one.

Is Seller-Fulfilled Prime FBM?

It is merchant-fulfilled with Prime performance rules — still your warehouse stock.

Is FBM the same everywhere?

The idea is shared, but formulas and marketplace rules differ. Use the definition on this page for ecommerce replenishment.

Do I need software to track FBM?

A spreadsheet works for a few SKUs. Once you have many suppliers or channels, a replenishment tool keeps the numbers current.

Does OmniRestock change my live stock?

Not unless you switch Stock write or Purchase orders on for a connection. Drafts stay drafts until you confirm.
